Steep and Curving Driveway

This driveway, located in the Ponderosa Hills subdivision of Tuolumne, CA, showed the typical rutting and drainage problems that can be resolved by the Easy Street Gravel restoration process.

Steep curving driveway restoration — 89′ driveway with severe ruts and uneven surface throughout on a very steep grade. Common issues were rutting, loose gravel, peaks and valleys and improper pitch of the surface. Driveway shoulders were higher than the drive surface creating no place for water run off which led to repeated issues.

Steep curving driveway restoration — Notice the uneven surface known as peaks and valleys. This loose gravel causes vehicles to break traction, digging holes that cause the gravel to pile up, creating peaks.

Steep curving driveway restoration — After scarifying and leveling out the peaks and valleys, as well as cutting down the sides of the driveway to manage water runoff, a 1000 pound roller is applied to compact the surface.

Steep curving driveway restoration — Note the smooth and compacted surface. The shoulders of the drive were lowered to facilitate water runoff. Additionally the pitch of the driveway at the top was corrected to expedite water runoff.
